KoKo Locker Ransomware is a new malware that analyses the files on the infected computer and encrypts the most valuable ones. The scanning algorithm for this locker usually targets photos, documents, images, and videos. If you’re don’t have any recent backups, there is a high possibility that most of your data will be blocked. The creators of the program leave you with the option to pay them in order to get your valuable information decrypted. However, we recommend rejecting this idea since there are no guarantees that hackers will restore the encrypted data. Plus, there are better ways to get rid of KoKo Locker Ransomware.
First of all, it is important to understand where did it come from to prevent stepping on the same rake twice. According to our analysis and reports we receive, this locker infiltrates your computer via spam emails from the unknown sender. It comes in the form of suspicious attachment (it can be a text file, video, picture and so on). The attachment does not look like an executable file, and will most likely disguise itself with a document extension. The installation of Koko Locker Ransomware begins after you open the attachment. After installation, it initiates a scanning procedure to choose files for encryption and informs the user about the hack. All affected files receive the new .kokolocker extension, so the system won’t be able to read them.
If your PC is not protected with anti-malware solutions, you won’t know that your system is in danger as the message appears when the encryption process is complete. Furthermore, the warning dictates you to pay 0.1 bitcoin to the malware’s creators in 78 hours. Otherwise, the Locker will remove itself leaving the data encrypted. This way it tries to convince the user that is the only way to restore valuable files is to enter the decryption key.
Although KoKo Locker Ransomware deletes after 78 hours, we recommend deleting it on your own, just to be safe. You can open the Task Manager and kill the Locker’s process, then just shift-delete the malicious executable file and restart your PC. Or you can follow the steps in the guide below to clean up your PC.

We recommend to download our automatic removal tool. This removal tool has been tested for KoKo Locker Ransomware threat removal and it is easy to use.
